Everything You Never Didn't
Want To Not Avoid Knowing About Paul Ogata
In October of 2007, Paul Ogata swept
to victory in the finals and won the prestigious 32nd Annual
San Francisco International Comedy Competition! Ogata
became the latest winner in the legendary comedy showdown,
whose past winners include Dana Carvey, Marsha Warfield, Sinbad,
Jake Johannsen and Doug Stanhope. (Former competitors who
also made the finals: Dane Cook, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres
and Patton Oswalt.)
Paul also won the title of the
Funniest Asian-American Comedian In The U.S., at the
nation-wide TakeOut Comedy Competition in 2004. With the finals
on Paul's home turf of Waikiki Beach, he pulled off the victory
and won the title. (Tiara and scepter not included.)
"Amazing Asian," a
short film starring Paul Ogata as an under-appreciated superhero,
premiered to sold-out crowds in Honolulu in May of 2004. The
comedy is now headed to the Hawaii International Film Festival
as well as film festivals on the West Coast.
In June of 2004, Paul Ogata
made his first appearance on the talk show circuit with his
spot on CBS's "The Late Late Show."
Then in July of 2004, Paul filmed
a role in the upcoming Damon Wayans movie, "Behind The
Smile." Watch for Paul playing the part of John Smith,
aka "Karate Man."
Look for Paul on your Sprint
mobile phone or on your AOL Broadband connection to see a
performance taped at the Improv comedy club in Los Angeles.
Paul is also an award-winning
recording artist. "Mental Oriental" hit the record
stores to good reviews and propelled Paul to win the 1999
Hawaii Music Award for Most Popular Comedy Artist.
